Effortech, a provider of IoT solutions, finalized a partnership with Iridium in early 2019. Iridium is a market-leading satellite communication company with the world’s largest commercial constellation, enabling communication between devices in the most remote locations, whether by air, land, or sea.
The partnership between the companies has made Effortech a VAM – Value Added Manufacturer, meaning it has permission to incorporate Iridium technology into its products. “It’s as if Iridium has given us a kind of certification, proving the quality of our product. For us, it’s a great achievement, as very few Brazilian companies have this approval,” states Executive Director Josué Colucci.
Currently, Iridium technology is incorporated into the ICON ST and ICON PRO ST, satellite terminals developed by Effortech that mediate communication between electronic devices via satellite, eliminating the need for cellular networks, LoRa, among others.
The satellite terminal is part of a range of end-to-end solutions developed by the company, from sensors to actuators. “The satellite terminal is the heart of all this, interconnecting the equipment and enabling communication between them,” says Colucci.
The product can be adopted by companies in any economic activity, but it is widely used in the Fleet Management and Cargo and Vehicle Tracking sectors.
